Share

A golf tournament to benefit the Ventura County chapter of the Alzheimer’s Assn. will be held Monday at Sunset Hills Country Club.

Registration for the tournament and a dinner banquet is $145. Cost for dinner only is $25. All proceeds will benefit the estimated 12,000 Ventura County residents suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, organizers said.

Former Los Angeles Dodger Ken McMullen will host the fund-raiser. Players will have a chance to try for a hole-in-one prize--a new BMW from Steve Thomas BMW of Camarillo.

The event will also include a barbecue dinner and a live auction with items donated by celebrities, including Barry Manilow, Bob Hope and former President Gerald Ford.

The Alzheimer’s Assn. offers counseling, support and education for families as their loved ones progress through the disease. Alzheimer’s causes dementia and usually strikes aging people.
