It Was ‘Little Shrimp’ or ‘Crabby Owner’

Share

I’ve been reading your paper for almost 20 years and this is the first time that I have felt compelled to write to you.

I would like to know how a major newspaper like the L.A. Times could allow one of its columnists to repeatedly call someone a “little shrimp”? If T.J. Simers has a problem with Washington Redskin owner Daniel Snyder, then he’s free to call him arrogant, pushy, smug or whatever. But referring to him as “a little shrimp” is solely to insult. It is nothing more than a derogatory remark, not journalistic opinion.

How could the editors allow such childish words to be printed? And perhaps an apology to Daniel Snyder would be appropriate.
