Palm Desert-based rockers Queens of the Stone Age, fresh off opening shows for Rage Against the Machine, brought in several guests for their second album, “Rated R,” notably former Judas Priest singer Rob Halford and Screaming Trees singer Mark Lanegan and drummer Barrett Martin. It’s due June 6. . . .

The Sex Pistols wrote “God Save the Queen” to mock/mark Queen Elizabeth II’s silver jubilee in her 25th year on the throne. Now Motorhead has recorded the song in honor of its 25th anniversary. It will be featured on “We Are Motorhead,” the band’s new album, due May 16. A U.S. tour is planned for May and June.
