Environmental Law Firm to Mark Move
A Ventura environmental law firm will celebrate its move to a new office at an open house Monday.
The Environmental Defense Center left its downtown Ventura office for more spacious quarters at 2021 Sperry Ave. earlier this month, said spokeswoman Anne McEnany. The nonprofit law firm, which specializes in environmental law, hopes to add a second lawyer to its staff, McEnany said.
The center, headquartered in Santa Barbara, opened its first Ventura office three years ago. It has been instrumental in a number of lawsuits challenging projects on environmental grounds, including the massive Newhall Ranch development east of Fillmore, in Los Angeles County.
Food and drink will be available at the event, which begins at 4:30 p.m. in Suite 18.
