Koll Development Co. wants to cash in on the demand for high-tech office space near John Wayne Airport by building the second in a pair of business centers that will bookend the intersection of MacArthur Boulevard and Main Street.
Koll demolished an obsolete industrial building on the southeast corner earlier this month to pave the way for a 187,000-square-foot office complex. The second building, dubbed Irvine North Phase II, will mirror the eight-story structure across the street from it that the developer finished late last year.
Construction is tentatively set to begin this summer and wrap up by next year.
