Rating the Radio Hosts

KABC-AM may be in a historic ratings slump, but current management cannot blame it on letting its old-timers go more than a year ago (“KSCA, KIIS Remain at Top; KABC Hits 40-Year Rating Low,” by Judith Michaelson, April 26).

I note that KRLA-AM, which hired KABC castoffs Michael Jackson, Ken Minyard and Ira Fistell in order to become L.A.’s “new” talk radio station, has “stayed put in 32nd place.” That may not give KABC program director Drew Hayes any comfort as he assesses the current ratings, but it vindicates Maureen Lesourd’s original housecleaning at KABC.
