* PASW Inc. in Newbury Park announced that Scott Nix has agreed to serve as president and chief executive of its subsidiary IApplianceNet.

The company also announced that John R. Mulhern, Phillip D. Matthews, Mark Bragg, Wayne T. Grau and David Goldberg have agreed to serve as the board of directors of IApplianceNet.

Prior to joining IApplianceNet, Nix served as president and chief operating officer of GSI Lumonics Inc., a public company engaged in industrial laser manufacturing. He has focused his career on general and operational management positions in high-tech, multinational firms.

He has served as president and chief executive of Lumonics, and vice president and general manager of the nuclear and fluorine products division of Allied-Signal (now Honeywell).

IApplianceNet is an applications service provider focusing on in-store displays.

* Interlink Electronics Inc. in Camarillo has named Rodney Vesling vice president of sales and marketing for the E-Transaction and Specialty Component business units.

Vesling will be responsible for shaping marketing strategy, forming strategic relationships, and driving marketing and sales programs for Interlink’s ePad electronic signature device and other specialty products.

Vesling comes to Interlink from Plasmon, formerly a division of Philips Electronics, where he served as vice president of original equipment manufacturer sales and strategic initiatives. He also worked at Eastman Kodak for 12 years in various senior management positions.

Interlink’s products include interactive remote controls for business communications and home entertainment markets, electronic signature items and integrated computer pointing devices.

* Richard Kurtz has been named chairman of the board at Advanced Photonix Inc. in Camarillo.

Kurtz has been a director of the company since February. He is vice president of sales and marketing for Filtertek Inc. in Hebron, Ill.

As chairman, he succeeds Hayden Leason, who resigned.

The company also announced that Susan Schmidt has been elected corporate secretary. Schmidt will assume that office in addition to her responsibilities as chief financial officer.

Advanced Photonix manufactures products that detect light by converting it into an electrical signal that is then used in such items as remote controls, store bar-code scanners and car phones.
