Singer-choreographer-actress Paula Abdul has sold her condo in a 17-story high-rise near Sunset Strip for almost its $584,000 asking price.

Abdul, who choreographed the movie “American Beauty” (1999), had owned the condo since 1998, when she sold her Beverly Hills-area house to actor Tom Arnold for about $2.4 million.

She’s unsure of her next move but may buy something “more homey,” sources said.

Abdul, 38, is developing an MTV series with friend and collaborator Andy Fickman. Last year, she appeared in the TV movie “Mr. Rock ‘n’ Roll: The Alan Freed Story” and appeared as herself on “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.”

The condo has two bedrooms in about 2,200 square feet and city views. The master suite has what has been described as a “shopaholic’s closet.” The tower also has a concierge, rooftop pool and tennis court.

Todd and Lori Marks of Re/Max on the Boulevard, Studio City, had the listing.

Laura Joffe Numeroff, author and illustrator of such children’s books as “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” (1985) and “Sometimes I Wonder if Poodles Like Noodles” (1998), has purchased a Mandeville Canyon home for about its $1.4-million asking price.

Numeroff, 47, wrote “Amy for Short” in 1976. Since then, she has written about 20 children’s books and illustrated many of them.

She bought a traditional-style home with five bedrooms in about 3,500 square feet. Built in the ‘60s and remodeled, the house has a library/office, a pool, and city and canyon views.

Leah and Tom Steuer of Prudential-John Aaroe represented Numeroff in buying; Peter Wong of Coldwell Banker had the listing.

Chef Harry Schwartz, host of the celebrity cooking show “Chef Harry & Friends” on PBS and a food consultant on KCBS, has sold his five-acre horse ranch at the north end of Malibu to move closer to town now that he is starting a national book tour and his third season on PBS.

His new book, “Star Grazing” (JSA Communications), focuses on cooking at home with such stars as Coolio and Linda Hamilton.

“My daughter has lost interest in the horses and is focusing on ballet, so we don’t need a ranch now,” he said. He sold the ranch to an Indiana thoroughbred breeder for about $1.3 million and leased a beachfront penthouse.

“We want to build or renovate,” he said.

Katie Bentzen of Fred Sands Estates, Malibu, represented Schwartz in the ranch sale and beachfront lease; Elaine Wegener of Fred Sands’ Palos Verdes office represented the buyer of the ranch; Steve Duboff of Coldwell Banker, Malibu, had the beachfront listing.
