Budget Group Inc. named a BP Amoco executive as chief financial officer to replace Neal Cohen, who resigned after less than nine months at the car rental company. William S. Johnson, 43, worked for BP Amoco for 16 years and most recently was president of the Amoco fabrics and fiber division, a $850-million business with more than 7,000 employees. Cohen resigned for personal reasons, Budget said. Lisle, Ill.-based Budget is in the middle of a restructuring that includes cutting 1,000 jobs and $100 million in annual costs. Cohen was hired in January from Northwest Airlines Corp., where he was senior vice president and treasurer. His departure follows that of David Siegel, chief operating officer, who left in May after six months on the job. Budget fell 25 cents to close at $3.88 on the NYSE.
