As soon as Bernie’s Teriyaki opens (about 10:30 a.m.), customers are waiting for food to eat there or carry out. No wonder. A teriyaki combination plate that includes one chicken leg and two pork or beef kebabs is just $4, and it includes lots of fried rice, a salad and a container of Bernie’s teriyaki sauce. Fried fish and shrimp are available as well as other teriyaki combinations. This Filipino-owned place has done business for years on a stretch of Glendale Boulevard close to downtown Los Angeles. It’s open every day but Sunday.
