Government Critic Freed After 5 Weeks

Prosecutors freed a prominent critic of the Egyptian government whose detention without charge for more than five weeks had sparked protests from international rights groups and Washington. Saad Eddin Ibrahim said he will resume his work, as a sociology professor at the American University in Cairo and director of a think tank, after resting two or three days.
