Good and Bad Side of Racing Go-Go Girls

Right on. I loved the article (“The New Go-Go Girls,” Aug. 2). It was wonderful to see positive, strong images of women, in general, and Asian American women, in particular. There’s tons more out there. I hope you find them and write about them.

Whenever you see cars racing on the freeway, cutting in and out of traffic at 100 miles per hour, chances are that they are souped-up Honda Civics or Acura Integras. Rarely, if ever, are they Chevrolet Suburbans. Yet SUVs and their drivers are routinely excoriated in The Times as menacing, potential killers, while, presumably because they are female, the illegal street racers profiled in this article are held up as role models and not a word is said about the danger they pose.
