Blue Cross Wins Award for Redesign of Its Web Site

Thousand Oaks-based Blue Cross of California has been awarded a bronze prize for the redesign of its Web site from the Health Information Resource Center’s World Wide Web Health Awards.

Blue Cross of California is the state’s operating subsidiary of WellPoint Health Networks Inc., one of the nation’s largest publicly traded health-care companies.

The Blue Cross Web site, which underwent a complete redesign, was honored in the category of advertising/marketing information.

The Health Information Resource Center is a national clearinghouse for consumer health programs and materials. According to the center, nearly 1,000 entries by hundreds of companies and organizations were submitted for the awards.
