Riki Robbins; Self-Help Expert, Radio’s Dr. Riki

Riki Robbins, 58, self-help author and expert on sex and relationships. Known as Dr. Riki on local and national radio and television, Robbins was the author of four books on relationship problems and sex. They included “The Empowered Woman,” “Negotiating Love,” “Betrayed: How You Can Restore Sexual Trust and Rebuild Your Life” and, with Marty Klein, “Let Me Count the Ways: Discovering Great Sex Without Intercourse.” She was a sex and relationship consultant in Berkeley whose advice also appeared on iVillage.com, an online service for women. Born in New York, Robbins earned her bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College and a doctorate in political science from Harvard. Thrice married, she taught political science in Taiwan and at Howard University in Washington before becoming a counselor in personal relationships. On Aug. 3 of breast cancer at her Berkeley home.
