PLACENTIA

The city will designate the Oberle Gymnasium at McFadden Park today as Placentia’s Historical Landmark No. 5 in a ceremony beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the gym, 974 S. Melrose Ave. The gymnasium was built slowly, between 1939 and 1949, and was dedicated in 1983 in the name of longtime teacher Donald A. Oberle.
