Heavy Desert Rain Strands Motorists

JOSHUA TREE, Calif. —
Heavy rain flooded desert areas Thursday afternoon, briefly stranding motorists and closing sections of Joshua Tree National Park.
It rained on and off for about three hours, said San Bernardino County fire Capt. Bob Buhrle.
“There were vehicles stranded because the low spots in the road filled with three to four feet of water,” he said.
No injuries were reported.
