MISSION VIEJO
The Planning Commission tonight will consider a proposal from Nextel Communications to build a 60-foot cellular phone antenna off Los Alisos Boulevard.
The tower would be a single pole disguised as a pine tree with an accompanying equipment shelter on the ground. The antenna would be built between the Terrace View condominium complex and the 241 toll road.
The board of directors for the Terrace View community association has agreed to support the project as long as Nextel agrees to a number of conditions, among them: limit access hours to the site to 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., except in cases of emergency, and landscape the site around the fences to improve the look of the area.
The Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 25909 Pala.
