From Times Wire Reports

Renegade soldiers holding 11 British troops in Sierra Leone have demanded food, medicine and the release of one of their leaders from prison in return for freeing their captives, Sierra Leonean officials said. One government official said negotiations were underway with the West Side Boys, a group of soldiers from the former Sierra Leonean army that claims allegiance to the military junta that ruled the country from 1997 to 1998. The British soldiers went missing Friday in the Masiaka-Forudugu area, east of Freetown, the capital.
