The House of Hope, a shelter for battered women and their children, will get a minor make-over Sept. 9 from employees of Oscar’s Restaurant, a chain in Southern California and Arizona.
Volunteers will spruce up the landscaping, repair the children’s play area, refinish doors, install bookshelves and organize the shelter’s storage area.
Oscar’s managers also will give residents tips on successful employment interviews and ways to achieve self-sufficiency. House of Hope is run by the Orange County Rescue Mission.
