Murder ‘Victim’ Lives, so Charges Are Dropped
Murder charges against two young men, one of whom supposedly bragged about the killing, were dropped when the alleged victim turned up alive in Arkansas.
Paul Higgs, 21, had not been seen for several weeks after an argument with Adam W. Wuesthoff, 17, and Karl R. Wright, 20, in October at a house near the Arkansas state line.
The two men were arrested after one of them told friends he had shot and killed Higgs and buried him in the woods in the Mark Twain National Forest, officials said.
Talking with the local sheriff, Higgs said the two men shot at him as he left the house but missed. He declined to press charges.
