Kingston Joins Computer Security Field

Share

Kingston Technology Co., a Fountain Valley memory module and computer components maker, said Friday that it is entering the computer security market with a line of fingerprint-based identity verification products for consumers. With the IdentiGuard, users can link all of their computer passwords to their fingerprint, a form of computer security technology called biometrics. The device confirms the user’s identity, eliminating the need to type in passwords. It will be available as a computer card for laptops at about $200 or as a plug-in device for desktops at $160. The products will be on the market this month.
