Fund Created for Victim of Beatings

In response to intense public sympathy, a fund has been established for the 12-year-old Burbank girl who was allegedly terrorized and brutally beaten for two years by her parents.

The girl, who along with three siblings has been placed in the custody of Children and Family Services, was beaten so badly that police said they were surprised she was alive.

Last week, police arrested the girl’s parents, Erlinda Reyes Allan, 37, and Marcus Allan, 42, who were charged with one count each of torture, child abuse and corporal injury to a child. If convicted, they could receive more than 20 years in prison.

The girl and her three siblings will spend Christmas together, police said.
