Shaq’s Graduation

* Re “Shaq Gets a Degree to Go With His MVP,” Dec. 16: Although it is refreshing to see an athlete and role model [Shaquille O’Neal] place his emphasis on getting a degree, I hardly think it is front-page news. It would have been more appropriate to place this “news” in the Sports section.

What is more impressive than someone with more money than God getting an education would have been a person who is physically challenged, a single parent or an individual from a gang-infested barrio achieving the unachievable. Now, that would be front-page news!
