Turkish Protesters Disrupt London Ride
From Times Wire Reports
Turks protesting their government’s bloody raid on prisons brought the world’s largest Ferris wheel to a standstill by occupying two passenger pods on the London Eye for several hours. At least two of the protesters doused themselves with gasoline and threatened to immolate themselves, a demonstrator said. The protesters, estimated at between 22 and 45, eventually were escorted away by police. At least 19 people have died in the prison violence in Turkey.
