Accelerated Networks Gains 1 Client, but Loses an Order

Accelerated Networks in Moorpark said it has been named a major supplier to one customer, while a second buyer has sharply cut back its order for Accelerated’s products.

CTC Communications has notified Accelerated that it does not intend to accept the $3.6-million order it had placed for the fourth quarter. Instead, CTC said it will order products on an as-needed basis in the future to conform with its newly implemented just-in-time inventory system.

In a separate announcement, the company said it has been named a major supplier to Siemens Carrier Networks LLC’s $150-million broad-band equipment and services contract for Winstar Communications. Specific terms of the contract were not disclosed, but Accelerated said it is working closely with Siemens and Winstar to better determine Winstar’s roll-out plans over the next two years.
