Ex-Reagan Assistant Will Head Nurescell

John Longenecker, who worked in the Reagan administration, has been named chief executive and president of Nurescell Inc. in Newport Beach. He will continue as a director of the company. Adrian Joseph resigned as chief executive and will serve in the newly created position of chief scientific advisor. James Samuelson resigned as president and will assume the positions of chief financial officer and vice president of operations and will remain a director of the company. Also, Sharon Nitka resigned as chief financial officer. Longenecker is also president of Longenecker & Associates, a management consulting firm. Before that, he was chairman of General Atomic International Services Corp. From 1983 to 1987, Longenecker served in the Reagan administration as the deputy assistant secretary responsible for management of the U.S. uranium enrichment business within the U.S. Department of Energy. Longenecker was appointed by President Bush in 1992 to serve as the first chief executive of the U.S. Enrichment Corp.

* Dan Reed has been appointed vice president of sales for Enhansiv in Irvine. Previously, Reed was a group executive for SAIC, responsible for financial services sales and strategic partnerships in two North American regions.

* Karen Peterson has been appointed president of the Orange County chapter of the Roundtable for Women in Foodservice. She is vice president of sales and marketing for Southland Brands Inc.

* Richard Tipton has been named director of sales for Lennox Hearth Products, a Fullerton manufacturer of fireplaces, fireplace inserts and stoves. He was previously vice president of sales and marketing at Thermador Corp., where he also served as vice president of sales and distribution. In addition, Brian Walker has joined the company as director of marketing. He was formerly a business consultant for brand strategy with Marriott Hotels International Inc. and owner of Desert Kitchen Design in Palm Desert. Walker also was vice president, sales and marketing for Raytheon’s Speed Queen Major Appliance division and vice president, sales and merchandising for KitchenAid Inc.

* Scott L. Capifoni has joined Corbin & Wertz in Irvine as a principal. Before joining the professional services company, he was in the technology consulting department at Haskell & White in Irvine.

* Mark D. Kemple has been named a partner in Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue, one of the nation’s largest law firms. Kemple, who joined the Cleveland firm’s Irvine office in 1996, handles general litigation.
