Concurrent Computer Corp. shares fell 50% after the company said fiscal second-quarter results will miss forecasts because a cable-television operator delayed an order for video-on-demand software. Concurrent said it expects a loss of 7 cents to 8 cents a share in the quarter ending Monday, much larger than the 4-cent loss previously forecast. It expects sales of $13.8 million to $14.2 million, less than its previous estimate of $18 million to $18.9 million. Concurrent is at least the ninth maker of cable-TV and telephone equipment to say since October that sales or profit will disappoint as customers cut spending. The company’s shares plunged $3.94 to close at $4 on Nasdaq in its biggest percentage decline since at least 1995. Rival SeaChange International Inc. fell $4.38 to close at $23.75, also on Nasdaq. SeaChange said it is not changing its earnings forecast for the current quarter. The Maynard, Mass.-based company expects to earn 5 cents a share on sales of $30 million to $32 million for its fiscal fourth quarter ending Jan. 31, a spokeswoman said.
