Apartment Fire Injures Man, 29
A 29-year-old Corona del Mar man was slightly injured in an apartment fire early Thursday, authorities said.
Firefighters arriving at 4332 Shorecrest Lane shortly after 5 a.m. saw flames shooting out of the bedroom window, Newport Beach Fire Capt. John Blauer said.
It took them about an hour to extinguish the fire.
The apartment resident suffered burns on his hands and feet, Blauer said, adding that the man was transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange for treatment.
Officials estimated that the fire resulted in about $120,000 in damage; its cause is under investigation, Blauer said.
