Skid Row Mission

* Re “An Oasis in Need of Help,” Dec. 23, about Catholic Worker’s skid row kitchen: It is unfortunate that in the many articles on Jeff Dietrich he finds it necessary to attack Cardinal Roger Mahony and to accuse Rupert Murdoch’s contributions to the new cathedral as being motivated only by “ego satisfaction.”

A Roman Catholic, I contribute to the Los Angeles Mission, which serves the poor on skid row without the need for the egocentric stunts that are Dietrich’s trademark.
