Murdock Is Messenger for Ford
Leadership has not been a strong point for the Clippers and Coach Chris Ford has been trying to rectify the problem by giving more responsibility to veteran point guard Eric Murdock.
Ford has given Murdock instructions to make sure the Clippers are not playing one-on-one basketball.
“That was my point of emphasis to him. I don’t care how much they beg for it, we can still get them the ball in a set,” Ford said. “Just call a play where they get a touch rather than just getting the ball and going one on one.”
Against Golden State Tuesday night, Murdock did not do a good job of keeping the ball moving early and he says it is going to take time to get the Clippers in a sharing mood.
Said Murdock: “We don’t want the guys taking the ball at halfcourt and taking it down where the defense sits.”
