Where’s Payoff for Arco Customers?

* A glaring headline announced “Arco Reports Eightfold Leap in Earnings, Dwarfing Expectations” [Jan. 21]. How nice!

This certainly must be rewarding to the stockholders and officers of Arco, but it would be equally rewarding to the hundreds of thousands of Arco customers, like me, if some small portion of those superior earnings were passed along to the consumers at the pump. After all, hasn’t the oil industry been telling us that the high price of gasoline is a product of oil prices?

All this just serves to confirm what most consumers have felt all along. We’re being gouged!
