Pacific Softworks Signs Agreement With RedFlag

Pacific Softworks in Newbury Park, a developer of Internet and Web-related software for the information appliance market, has formed an alliance with RedFlag Inc.

RedFlag, a privately held company based in Santa Monica, designs complex graphical application software that will enable Pacific Softworks to provide products that include not only the Internet and Web-component software, but the front- and back-end application software, company officials said.

The products will be compatible with both Red Hat Linux and Microsoft Windows.

As part of the agreement, Pacific Softworks has the right to acquire up to 45% of RedFlag shares in the next 18 months in exchange for shares of Pacific Softworks.

In addition to the investment, the two companies will try to develop areas of common interest.
