Efforts to bring the Festival of Arts to the city will continue Wednesday when the City Council considers hiring a pair of consulting firms to study the economic and environmental impact of moving the cultural arts event.

City staff is recommending that the council hire Alfred Gobar Associates to prepare the economic analysis and Lettiere-McIntyre and Associates Inc. to conduct the environmental report for a total amount of less than $50,000.

Lettiere-McIntyre, which is handling planning for the massive Talega development being built in the city, will investigate the possible traffic, noise and light impacts the proposed festival site would have on the surrounding area.
