Creative Computers Names CEO for ECost Unit

* Torrance-based Creative Computers/IdeaMall has named Douglas Falk president and chief executive of its Internet-based computer products retailing subsidiary, ECost.com. Falk takes over for Creative Computers President Scott Klein, who has been acting in that role since the unit’s inception in 1999. Falk comes from ICG Communications Inc., where he was executive vice president as well as chairman and CEO of its ICG Satellite Services division. Creative Computers/IdeaMall, an Internet marketer, said it will soon change its name to IdeaMall.

* Tivix, an online program distribution service based in Los Angeles, has appointed Renee Madrigal senior vice president of worldwide marketing. She is formerly of MTM Enterprises.

* Walt Disney Co. has named Anne Gates senior vice president and chief financial officer of its Disney Consumer Products division. She will oversee all finance and accounting functions for the division and its operating companies worldwide. Gates joined Burbank-based Disney in 1991 and most recently was a vice president of group finance.

* Alan Pullman has been promoted to associate with Perkowitz & Ruth Architects Inc. He joined the Long Beach-based firm as a design director last year.

* The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce has named David Eads vice president of member services and communications. He previously worked as the executive vice president of the Wichita (Kan.) Convention & Visitors Bureau.

* Nissan North America Inc., based in Torrance, promoted Debra Sanchez Fair to the position of vice president of corporate communications. Sanchez Fair will replace Jason Vines, who recently left the company to pursue other business interests. She will oversee all corporate communications activities for Nissan’s North American operations, with a staff of 22 and regional offices in Washington and Detroit.
