Zachary Opera Competition Seeks Performers
The Loren L. Zachary Society’s Competition for Young Opera Singers is accepting applications through March 16 for auditions in Los Angeles.
Preliminary and semifinal auditions will take place April 11-14, with a finals concert set May 21 at the Wilshire-Ebell Theatre.
Contestants--female singers, ages 21 to 33, male singers, 21 to 35--must be prepared to pursue a professional operatic stage career and must compete in person.
The prizes total more than $45,000; each finalist will receive a minimum of $1,000.
To request an application, singers should send a self-addressed, stamped, business-size envelope to the Loren L. Zachary National Vocal Competition, 2250 Gloaming Way, Beverly Hills, CA 90210.
