A local resident was appointed chairperson of the new Major Gifts Committee for Saddleback Memorial Foundation.

Jackie Carey, who currently serves on the foundation’s board of directors, assumes the new position, said Nolan Draney, president of the foundation.

The Major Gifts Committee will focus on securing funding for the medical center’s priority projects, such as the critical care unit, purchase of hospital equipment and other campaign projects, Draney said.
