Ocalan’s 2nd Trial on Hold Until April
A Turkish court in Ankara, the capital, opened and quickly adjourned a second trial against Kurdish rebel leader Abdullah Ocalan, who already is on death row for treason. Judge Ihsan Akcin adjourned the trial in the case against Ocalan, his estranged wife, Kesire, and 99 other members of his organization until April 24. All the accused face the death penalty on separatism charges. Akcin said the court must find out where 82 of the other defendants are before trial can continue. Ocalan was sentenced to death in June.
