Council members voted to televise their meetings temporarily to determine the quality of recording equipment. City officials said they will try to secure funding for a permanent system.
At the meeting last week, council members discussed ways to broadcast meetings on local cable Channel 3. Ideas included using a single camera on a tripod or a remote four-camera system operated remotely.
Initial costs are estimated at about $269,225 for a four-camera system.
Mayor Steven C. Anderson and other council members directed city officials to work with Adelphia Cable and begin a trial two-camera system using tripods. The trial system is expected to start in about three months, city officials said.
