Nestle Agrees to Buy PowerBar of Berkeley

Nestle USA Inc. of Glendale has agreed to buy PowerBar Inc., a Berkeley-based manufacturer of energy bars, for an undisclosed sum, the company said. The deal includes PowerBar’s manufacturing and distribution centers.

Nestle USA is part of Nestle S.A., a food company with annual sales of $52 billion.
