CMGI to Buy 80% of German Web Ad Firm: CMGI Inc. agreed to buy more than 80% of closely held Adtech Advertising Service Providing, a German online advertising company, to expand its Web marketing to Europe. Terms weren’t disclosed. Adtech’s software places advertisements on Web sites. CMGI has agreed to buy several online advertising and marketing companies in recent months as it seeks to take on top online advertising company DoubleClick Inc. Shares of Andover, Mass.-based CMGI rose $8.06 to close at $276.88 on Nasdaq.
