Woman Charged in Bank Standoff
A woman’s bank robbery-turned-hostage standoff in Olathe, Kan., ended when a bank employee knocked the gun from the woman’s hand. No shots were fired and no one was injured. Phouvanpheng Nicki Siriboury, 23, was charged in federal court in Kansas City, Kan., with one count of attempted bank robbery and one count of brandishing a firearm at the Bank of America branch in suburban Kansas City. “I had nothing to lose,” the woman had said in a phone call to KMBC-TV during the eight-hour standoff. “I lost it all, lost my job, lost my family, lost it all.”
