* Camarillo-based Vitesse Semiconductor Corp., a maker of non-silicon telecommunications chips, said fiscal first-quarter profit rose 62%, meeting expectations. Net income in the quarter ended Dec. 31 rose to $23.6 million, or 14 cents a share, from $14.6 million, or a post-split 9 cents a share, a year earlier. The company was forecast to earn 14 cents. Revenue rose 47% to $89.2 million from $60.7 million.
