IESCO to Acquire Mobile Inspection

International Energy Services Co., which inspects equipment at oil refineries worldwide, said it has acquired Mobile Inspection Services, a Santa Fe Springs-based power plant inspection firm. Officials would not disclose the terms of the deal. The purchase expands San Pedro-based IESCO’s client list to include nuclear plants and utilities such as Southern California Edison, which are served by Mobile. IESCO Chief Executive Brian Shannon said the company would retain all 15 workers at Mobile, bringing its work force to about 100. IESCO has inspected pressure vessels and reactors at refineries in the U.S., Southern Africa and Southeast Asia for oil companies such as Exxon Mobil Corp. and Texaco Inc. since its founding in 1986, Shannon said.
