WestWorks Mortgage, a Santa Ana-based sub-prime mortgage lender, said that it plans to open a fourth regional operations center, in Florida, by the summer.

The expansion reflects the company’s strong growth, according to Ron Wilsie, president. In 1999, WestWorks produced $237.2 million in loans, a 257% increase over 1998. With the new center in Tampa, the company hopes to fund $400 million in 2000.

WestWorks, which specializes in making loans to borrowers with credit problems, currently has regional centers in Minneapolis, Santa Ana and Memphis, Tenn.
