Iteris to Provide System for Virginia Travelers
Iteris Inc., an Anaheim supplier of intelligent transportation systems, said Wednesday that it has won a contract valued at about $1.4 million to provide the Virginia Department of Transportation with the nation’s first wireless geolocation-based Advanced Traveler Information System.
Iteris, formerly known as Odetics ITS, will serve as the prime contractor for the project. Terms and conditions of the final contract are yet to be disclosed.
The company will develop the information system for a Virginia Beach-area roadway together with such transportation and communication companies as U.S. Wireless, Cox Interactive Media and Avalon Integrated Systems.
