Holden’s SUV

Share

I was appalled to read (Jan. 15) that L.A. City Councilman Nate Holden has the chutzpah to have the city foot the bill for his $45,000-plus 2000 Lincoln Navigator SUV (with an Alpine audio system, CD changer and heated seats) plus the fuel for this behemoth. Holden claims to have “no idea” what this vehicle cost. If someone else is paying for it, why should he care what it costs?

It’s time to change the laws that allow these demigods to spend taxpayers’ money on these perks for themselves and their cronies with little accountability.

Instead of providing City Council members with free cars, we should give them bus passes. Then they could actually meet the constituents they claim to represent.
