Manufacturing Neighborliness

Share

I was offended by the story “Give Stanton a Chance” (Jan. 8).

Contrary to stereotype and outdated opinion, today’s manufactured homes and communities have more in common with traditional “site built” houses than the trailer home of yesteryear.

Neighbors in manufactured housing communities know each other, enjoy spending time together and tend to watch out for each other, as opposed to many single-family neighborhoods and apartments.

Mobile home parks are secure, active communities that give you more home for your money. And since communities are often close to schools and work, people are able to spend more time with their families and each other, and less time in the car.
