SAN CLEMENTE
The City Council recently approved a request from a restaurant near the San Clemente Pier to install outdoor seating on the front sidewalk.
The proprietor of the Tropicana Sidewalk Cafe, in the 600 block of Avenida Victoria, received the approval to put in a concrete platform that will create a level eating surface along the sloped sidewalk.
The restaurant needed a city permit because the platform will be built on a public right-of-way.
The Planning Commission approved the project at its Jan. 4 meeting, before the council approved it last week.
