Beard Named to Post at ObjectShare

Shelly Beard has been named director of business development for ObjectShare Inc. in Irvine. Beard was previously with Technical Connections, where he directed the development and staffing of new business projects.

* James Smith has joined StarBase Corp. in Santa Ana as executive vice president, customer group. Before joining StarBase, Smith was executive vice president of sales and marketing at ObjectShare Inc. in Irvine.

* Steve Leach has joined Diedrich Coffee Inc. in Irvine as director of coffee purchasing. He will be based at the company’s Castroville facility. Leach had been with Royal Coffee in Emeryville, where he was a green-coffee trader.

* Mark Spowart has joined QLogic Corp. in Costa Mesa as vice president of sales. He had been with ATL Products Inc. for eight years, most recently as vice president of sales. In addition, Mark Edwards has been appointed vice president and general manager of QLogic’s computer systems group. Larry Fortmuller was named to the newly created position of vice president of corporate marketing.

* Kirk Green has formed Green Communications in Rancho Santa Margarita, which will focus on corporate communications, investor relations, public relations and promotion. Green was formerly director of corporate communications and investor relations at Interplay Entertainment Corp. Before that, Green was head of communications for Disney Interactive.
