Ernst & Young Launch Recruitment Web Page

Big 6 accounting firm Ernst & Young said Tuesday it has launched a subsidiary in Irvine to recruit and train information technology consultants.

Net-Strike Worldwide designed a Web site to serve as an online employment agency and personnel department, said Carla Dyckman, the spinoff’s marketing director.

Consultants will list themselves and their qualifications on the site. Client companies can search the site for temporary help, paying a fee if they find workers who meet their needs.

In addition to overseeing the Web site, Net-Strike will screen the consultants on its list and offer them additional training, Dyckman said. The company also will handle administrative tasks, such as preparing tax filings and obtaining INS verifications.

Dyckman said Net-Strike’s primary client will be Ernst & Young itself, which will hire contractors from the database for IT jobs it cannot do in-house.

The venture reflects the souped-up, high-tech job market in which jobs overwhelmingly outnumber workers, Dyckman said.
